HTF is very much like a family (perhaps dysfunctional at times, but a family just the same), or at least it can sometimes feel that way. With such a broad membership, I am sure there are those in our family of home theater enthusiasts who have been severely impacted by Katrina.
I was happy to see that Frank Grimes recently chimed in, as he had expressed a great deal of anxiety over the approaching hurricane.
Unfortunately, there are several members from the area that have yet to post since Katrina hit. Several of these people have been very active long time HTF members; like Brian Kaz, Carl Fink, Jody C Robins
and Todd Barattini.
In particular, I am quite concerned about the well being of Todd Barattini and his family. I believe he has a wife and two young daughters, and in his last post on the forum he made no indication that we was going to evacuate. I knew from his post in after hours about selling his house, Selling your own home? Helpfull info needed, that he lived off I-59 near Slidell, an area which was severely devastated by the hurricane.
I searched through both the Missing Persons and the I'm OK lists for victims of Katrina hosted on www.nola.com and was only able to find a Joseph & Ronnie Barattini - who I'm fairly certain are no relation. I do not believe he has any siblings, and I think his father passed away exactly two years from today. This is assuming he is the same Todd Barattini, son of Jacob Barattini of Slidell.
Searching the HTF Member List I found additional members who may or may not have been impacted by Katrina.
(members who have one of the following cities as their location in their profile: New Orleans, Slidell, Gulfport, and Biloxi)
Please look over the list, and if you see your name let us know you are OK, and if there is anything we might be able to do to help you through this difficult time.
If you recognize and know the status of anyone on the list please let us know how they are and how we might be able to help.
If anyone knows any other members not on the list, including yourself, and who were in the path of hurricane Katrina, please post their names here.
