Anybody catch these articles? I saw just the second one, and I'm still trying to get the first from AudioXpress (unless anybody has it?)

Anyway, what do you think of this? It seems like a dipole where dampening material is used as opposed to a baffle to slow down the air coming from the back, effectively giving it a larger baffle.

Of course at some frequency, it can't do enough, and the two will null out.

Has anybody tried anything like this, or heard one?

I'm rather limited in space, so it's something like that, or a sealed box w/ linkwitz transform. (See previous post, 'Is this what al inkwitz transform is for?)

Thanks

Charlie

Too funny, it's not sealed and it's not an IB. It's a resitively loaded dipole.....

If you need good performance from a small box get a drivers with a low Vas and use a LT circuit if necessary
