OK, this clue really threw me. I didn't know if we were talking Dirk Diggler or some private eye. In any case, I thought that was Kevin Spacey on the left of 6A, though it didn't fit his movies.
One of the easiest shots for me so far was "The Full Monty" -- I know that film VERY well.
The level of difficulty is OK for me -- I just happen to have not seen half the films.
I gotta say John, that really surprised me. Singin is a beautifully shot film, a great example of the use of color, so right there I'd think you'd have interest. It's a prototype film for film study work as well, and it happens to be damn entertaining.
I didn't find this thread in time, but I honestly did figure the first one out without the clue once I got Rain Main. I was mixing up Singing with Star is Born on that cap up till that point.
Great game idea, I need to get Tino over here, he loves these things.
So far I like the difficulty I saw. Python/Full was very easy, KKBBang drove me nuts because I knew it but couldn't place (cop scene, guy is freaked out by weird women in box thing at disco/party, not Miami Vice but around then....argh). I didn't recognize the Big Fat scene, though Crashers was perhaps too easy IMO. The hint gave me the Big Fat half.
BTW, I'm 50% certain I know 7b (a true classic if its what I think), but can't place 7a even with the possible words from 7b...thus I'm wondering if I'm off on 7b.
7A: A well-known, long-time Hollywood couple first met during the filming of this movie.
7B: When the real person on whom the main character was based saw this movie, he said it made him realize for the first time what a terrible person he had been.

I was just pointing out the clerical error to avoid any of the end of round complaints, accusations and likely lawsuits from the troublemakers in the crowd...
I notice you're starting to shrink the size of the people in your screenshots now.
Not easy enough for some of us. My movie viewing experience is pretty limited, so this is challenging for me. I was sure I knew 8B, then I double checked and the movie I thought it was was filmed in color.
Not to worry. After receiving much constructive input, I've decided to not mess with the level of difficulty.
Not intentionally, anyway; it really is hard to predict how many right responses I'll receive in a given round. I am amazed, though, at how consistently correct many of you are.
8A: This was originally proposed (by a famous animator) as an animated film, but this project never met final approval.
8B: Censors attempted to ban this film from being shown in cinemas; it’s X-rating (British "X Certificate") was changed only after many edits were made.
