Hi all,

Would like some help, I getting ready to get my screen (70") and wanted to know distance from floor to bottom of screen for set up. I just mounted a
50" LCD above the fire place in the living room, I find my self looking up and I don't want to do the same with my HT screen. I'll be seating about 18.5" from the floor on a Star Delight HT seat, at about 9' from screen.

Thank you for your help.

Welcome to the Forum!

Yup, that "screen over the fireplace" thing looks better than it functions.

The technically correct screen height is center of screen at eye level, or no more than 15° above eye level.

Thanks Wayne, that gives me a pretty good idea where to place it.

I'm not sure where I got my info from but here's how I did it:
1. Divide the screen into 3 equal sections using horizontal lines.
2. Measure your eye height in your favorite seat. (My wife thought I was nuts when I made her take measurements.)
3. The line that separates the lower and middle section of your screen should be at this height.

Some people put there screen so the eyes are halfway up (Wayne), some people put there screen so that they eyes are 1/3 of the way up (Robert).

If using non-recliners, you're better off going with the halfway point. If using reclining seating, the 1/3 mark might be better.

Either one will work though.

Thanks guys, I think I will go with the "1/3 mark" way!

Really appreciate the help!
