It's really nice to see that TCM is going to air 10 episodes tomorrow, 1/18/11, of the rare 1950s anthology series Screen Directors Playhouse. I hope TCM does more of this sort of thing, airing old anthologies series from the 50s and 60s. They really are mini-movies, the filmed ones especially, and there doesn't seem to be much of an outlet for them. It's a shame more of the old anthology series never made it onto DVD.

Ditto "The 20th Century Fox Hour" and the WB "Conflict" anthology which might be coming to the Archive.

If we are talking exclusively about anthologies then I'd add The Bell Telephone Hour, Crossroads, Danger, DuPont Cavalcade Theater, Fireside Theater, Robert Montgomery Presents, Schlitz Playhouse of Stars and Studio 57 (among many others).

Gary "it's really amazing to think about how many anthology series aired in the 50's and 60's" O.
