Get ready for another round of old school chills and thrills. The UNIVERSAL HORROR COLLECTION VOLUME 6 (Can you believe it??) is coming to Blu-ray on Aug 25th.

Volume 6 includes four tales of terror from the archives of Universal Pictures, the true home of classic horror. Boris Karloff stars as a doctor who risks his own life to save the captives of a mad count in THE BLACK CASTLE. Vengeance is sworn against six men who witness a ceremony where beautiful women turn into serpents in CULT OF THE COBRA.. In THE THING THAT COULDN’T DIE, when a young psychic discovers a box that contains the living head of an executed devil worshiper … heads will roll! A cat witnesses the murder of her owner ... and this cat is hell-bent on revenge in THE SHADOW OF THE CAT.

Terror Aboard 1933
Menace 1934
The Double Door 1934
The Witching Hour 1934
Preview Murder Mystery 1936
The Mad Doctor 1940
Among the Living 1941
Destiny 1944
The Man in Half Moon Street 1944
Night Has 1000 Eyes 1948
Alias Nick Beal 1949
Girl in the Kremlin 1957 (OK, not really genre -- but certainly psychotronic .. and a certain popular blu ray release!)

That said, when we say Shout could release any of these, it depends on whether Universal were to give them satisfactory prints -- and that hinges on whether Universal has satisfactory prints on these (i.e., not requiring restoration work for which Universal might balk at footing the bill).... and on whether there are rights entanglements where the rights-holder(s) has an unreasonable "ask" -- still an all-too-common situation...

I remember seeing this in the theater. I would have been about 8 and it was probably a Saturday morning matinee. I remember being pissed because
there was no real monster, IMHO.
I’d like to watch it again to see if it still pisses me off. :)
