Scrap mid-fi 5.1 in favor of better 2.0? (1 Viewer)

I figure I could sell off my entire HT kit, and my little vintage kit, and wind up with enough dough for a really good (used) 2.0. Say used McIntosh or an AR rig.

Anyone done anything like that and REALLY regretted it?

I've been listening / watching in 2.0 - 2.1 for about a month now. Surround is nice, but I've always really appreciated good stereo.

I generally prefer good stereo to mediocre surround.
