Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Press Event Last evening Adam Gregorich and I had the opportunity to attend a press event in honor of the Blu-ray and DVD launch of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. On hand were the film's director, creator and cast who took part in a Q&A session which was preceded by a look at the special content created for the Blu-ray and DVD. Director Edgar Wright (Hott Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) took us through various features that touched upon the extensive effects work that had been created for the film as well as the exhaustive stunt work that was required of its actors. Following this panel session we were treated to a screening of the film at the famous Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. Seeing this film for the first time was an extremely enjoyable experience. This highly stylish, inventive, visually rich film is told in comic book fashion with rock band music and a throwback to video gaming. While some of the in-jokes relating to video gaming may go over the heads of some, the laughs and visual ploys never seem to cease to the point where the movie becomes rapid-fire entertainment. Below are some pictures from the press event. These will be followed up by video clips later today. Adam Gregorich will also be adding additional photos from the event and the film's screening at the Egyptian Theater which was Moderated by Guillermo del Toro.
