BTW, will this be including fantasy films (like LOTR, Dark Crystal, etc) or strictly sci-fi? The two often get lumped together.

Well, I'm certain I'll disagree about what does and does not constitute SF ( with some thread participants); but I'll give this one a go. ( I'm assuming you'll go 1-8, 8-1 in the rounds. :) )

I'm going to keep the definition of sci-fi pretty liberal for this tournament allowing people to select any of the films commonly considered sci-fi, not just "hard" sci-fi.

Although I risk losing my shot at one of the good Star Wars films, I can't possibly do without this one: 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Well, damn, Chuck. I wanted that one... :)

So, I'll take Kubrick's second-greatest sci-fi film, A CLOCKWORK ORANGE.

My first two picks are: The Empire Strikes Back and the original Star Wars.

Back to you, SteveGon.
