Scientific Atlanta 8300 + External SATA HardDrive (1 Viewer)

Hi all; I'm wondering if anyone has had any problems with their SA 8300 PVR after hooking up an external harddrive. I've recently added a Maxtor 300GB SATA Harddrive and now have seemingly random pauses during playback. If I rewind it and play the same segment again its ok, so it appears to be a streaming problem or something.

Any ideas?

Not to Promote another ht forum but AVS has a huge running thread on this very topic. I have not done it myself because I have the Passport software (not SARA) but others seem to have the same issue you do. Might be worth checking out.
