I recently purchased the region 2 dvd and it seems that the video quality is much better than the R1 version. I sold the R1 version a while ago and I'm just wondering if anyone has both versions and could comment on this.

I myself have always wanted to see screen-shot comparisons. I have the region 2 edition. I think the picture and sound quality is quite good for a low bitrate transfer.

I'm really looking forward to the new edition. The specifications are still not available, but I'm sure it will be a high-quality edition.

Will you be buying it, Robert? [IMG]

It depends on the transfer. If they spread the film over two disc's I probably will purchase it, but I'm quite content with the current R2 version as it does seem to have a much better picture than the oop R1 dvd. I guess will have to wait and see what Universal plans on doing as they seem to have flubbed up a lot of big titles in recent months.
