This is one of my favorite TV series from the 80s and I'd love to see it released on DVD.

This show was a big hit for CBS in the early to mid 80s and I can still remember watching it every week. The series covers the adventures of a suburban housewife & mother who becomes a spy after meeting a U.S. government spy one morning at a train station.

I was lucky enough to get most of the episodes recorded onto video in their uncut form before Pax aired their chopped up versions.

I missed out on the recent chat with Warner Brothers, but from what I read no one asked about this great series. Come on Warner Brothers, how about it?

If one goes by websites as a sign of how popular a TV series is, then Scarecrow & Mrs. King has plenty of fans. There are many fan-based websites devoted to this series all over the web, many of them are still maintained.

Any other Scarecrow & Mrs. King fans out there? Anyone hear any word about whether Warner Brothers is even considering this great series?

I'd buy it. I always liked the show. It had a similar style to Remington Steele and Moonlighting, and I liked them.

Since Babylon 5, Bruce Boxleitner has been working steadily -- mainly in TV movies and guest star roles on other shows. On the other hand, Kate Jackson has virtually disappeared. I know she survived a few cancer battles in the '80s. It'd be nice to see her get some work. I always liked her.

It's in my pile of tapes that I've been holding off transferring to DVD (along with other shows like The Equalizer) because I think they may come out at some point down the road. How it will sell is another matter. It's a smart show and we all know how well those do.

I would buy it. The recent Warner chat was for films only, there is to be a separate chat for TV, short films and "classical" animation unless I somehow missed that.

Scarecrow and Mrs. King was a wonderfully written show and featured great chemistry amongst the actors. The story lines were fun and pretty believable. I too would love to see this series on DVD. I have downloaded the episodes that are available on AOL's In2TV network. They are all from season one and look pretty good, but definitely would look MUCH better on DVD. I pray the powers that be will release this ENTIRE series on DVD soon! [IMG]

How did you go about doing this when IN2TV has not even launched yet ? Also from what i hear WB has made it impossible to download the episodes.

    Go to this link: television.aol.com/in2tv/scarecrow_mrs_king_tv

There are some glitches, as it appears to be in testing phase right now. I have been able to successfully download all 10 episodes. Check it out!
(You can download and watch them, however, you cannot save them to a disc for subsequent viewing.)

DavidRock: thanks... i downloaded episodes fine but about 25 minutes into trying to watch them it shuts off. Must be one of the glitches in beta test. Quality is better than i expected it would be. If warner has these there is no excuse to not release the dvd set's! come on Warner!!

Was really looking forward to viewing those Scarecrow episodes, but after struggling with IN2TV for a couple hours, discovered that the content is not available in Canada -- which is where I am.

    Sucks.

I have found that if you download using the "Hi-Q" option and wait.... the show runs just fine. (Having the patience is the hard part!) Also greatly helps if you have high speed internet.

I'm with you guys on Scarecrow and Mrs. King. I want a regular full season region 1 release.

I don't have cable, so I haven't seen this show since it aired, but I remember the Lee/Amanda chemistry, the Francine envy, and the Cold War venom fondly.

So if you aren't in the US this doesn't work? I'm in Canada and tried the HiQ version. It completed, then when I go to watch it, a message tells me that I need to view the file using AOL Video Player (which I am) and a link to the home page. I couldn't find anything about that error, nor anything that said it was only good in the US. [IMG]

That's the same thing that happened to me, Jonathan. After following some troubleshooting links on the site, I found some small print that said that IN2TV was only available in the US, "due to licensing restrictions."

    Very disappointing.
