I found this linked on another board and wanted to share with all the Star Wars/Gamecube enthusiasts here. Sounds good. I can't wait for my preorder copy to get here!

I can't wait either. However, Luigi's Mansion took a beating in the ratings (Ok, two out three is not the end of the world).

Luigi's Mansion is the quirky innovative type game that Nintendo always makes. Paper Mario was an inconventional RPG, but was quite successful (and a pretty good game from what I heard). I'm looking forward to RL and LM.

I don't know if I'd call Luigi's Mansion innovative. A Technology demo yes, but innovative, not really.

EGM never reviews imports or early copies of games (they might review early copies, but thats only in cases where the game is definitely finished and will come out, unlike Half Life for DC) so RL hasn't been reviewed by them yet. That thing was probably just the preview they did on RL.
I think the game was THPS3. I'd have to look it up.

LOL, nice one, Morgan. It's the review of RL in the link. The review. With score.
OK?
EGM, like almost all mags, regularly review 'unfinished' games. It's part & parcel of the industry - they have to do that to meet print deadlines yet stay current with games on the shelf.

Boy oh boy, chaps, the assault on the 2nd death star is going to be incredible. I hope I'm not delayed too long in getting ahold of a US cube on import. :-/

Not only did Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 beat out Rogue Leader for "game of the month"... it also beat out Ace Combat 4, Devil May Cry & Half-Life (all on PS2), Madden NFL 2002, Cel Damage & Tony Hawk 2X (all on Xbox), and Super Monkey Ball & Luigi's Mansion (on GC).
Maybe there is some truth to the old addage that a good game matters more than hardware muscle, eh?

Sorry, I thought that the issue with the RL review wasn't out yet (I actually got the issue about an hour after writing what I did). THPS3 got Gold, not Platinum.
I have this issue. I get to read it and look at all the pretty pictures right in front of me. Plus, there is the X-Box versus GameCube feature (they actually picked a winner between the two!). I would tell you the answer, but I'm too lazy.

Anyone hear the news Rogue Leader will be available in stores from Nov 7th prior to the console's launch? Odd move, but something to fondle until you go get in line to pick up the machine.

Yeah I saw that some of the Xbox games will be out soon too. Some people are already getting the accessories for it. Its nice in the fact that you don't have to scramble to find the games and accessories on launch day. I like it.
Oh if you were in suspence about which system won in EGM...
it rymes with Lexx rocks :)

Fondle it all you want, Dan. I'll playing my copy on the 7th of November. Oh, it will be a beautiful thing.
(BTW, when I said, "Fondle it all you want," I was referring to the game. Just wanted to make sure we were clear on that.

One aspect of the EGM article confused me. When comparing the future game prospects for Xbox and Gamecube the winner was Nintendo's Gamecube.
The overall winner was Xbox.
If they really think Gamecube has the best chance at superior software it seems odd to me not to choose Gamecube as the overall winner. What's more important for a game console than games?
Just my initial impression of the article.

Camp-
If you had to get one console this November and had no opinion about either one, EGM reccommended the XB. They said that you really should buy both, but if you have no personal reason to buy one over the other, then go for the XB.
Also, out of 11 people that chose XB or GCN, 6 chose XB and 5 chose GCN. So actually, the XB only won because of how many people chose it. Their choices were based on what they were able to play right then and not what they will be able to play a year from now. I seriously doubt that future prospects and such affected their decisions because they were paying more attention to the games they had right in front of them.
