I have heard it wasn't their first meeting also, my friend heard it a Sports Talk radio station. Don't have a source though.

The guy I heard it from was saying that the Kobe/Samaki fight last year was not about basketball, it was about this girl(or a girl), Samaki was riping on Kobe for cheating on his wife.
