It would look much nicer without the shot of Cusak holding the boombox.

What has Ione Sky been up to since this film (besides becoming a lesbian)?

I don't like the shot of John Cusak with the boombox either.

When did Ione Skye become a lesbian?

Just letting you know........no one just "becomes" a lesbian. She either is or isn't & maybe just didn't admit it to anyone til now because people are idiots on the subject, such as some of the comments made.
Either way.....looking forward to the dvd, thanks Fox!

I actually like the layout of the cover, and the boom box scene is perhaps the most memorable of the film. Much nicer than just some generic close-up of Cusak.

Having Cusak and Skye in the other shot laid behind it adds to the mood, IMO.

One question that maybe Peter or somebody Fox might like to answer:

Why no mention of Crowe on the cover? With McGuire, Almost Famous and currently Vanilla Sky all doing well I would have expected him to be the 2nd best selling point of the film after John Cusak.

Hmmmm, I still like the original video cover art better (basically the same "laughing" picture in back without the boombox photo surrounded by a pale blue border top and bottom).

It reminds me of River's Edge which had a simple, effective cover which became a big "celebrity" cover to pull in people without the good taste to have already heard of the picture.

    Bah!!
