I saw this film when it was first released and I was pretty impressed. I haven't seen it since, not even on TV and I've a nasty idea I wouldn't admire it so much today. I seem to recall there was a lot of self-pity in the film and an angry, blame-the-rest-of-society justification for thinking a criminal act might be the way out. I wouldn't mind seeing the film again just once so I'll have to think about this one.

I saw this film a year or two ago, for the first time, after hearing so many great things about it including Jack Lemmon's Best Actor win.

While I thought it was quite good, and Lemmon was indeed at the top of his game, it's a film I don't think I'll ever watch again.

Meanwhile, THE PRISONER OF SECOND AVENUE is a film I try to watch every 2-3 years religiously.

I am going to get this and watch it again. I watched the via vision release. It wasn’t great, but not terrible. I want to compare this new release.
