I have an approximately 8 month old oval direct tv dish and I am starting to have problems with signal reception. The strange part is that I have no problem until it rains and then the 101 satellite goes out completely, but I still have a picture from the 119. The problem continues even as the sky clears completely. Do some LNBs have a short life span? What else should I look at?

Thanks.

Have you checked all the cable connections and switches (If they have them)? Sounds like you are getting water somewhere it shouldn't be.

What's the "clear weather" signal strength for transponders on LNB 2? How about LNB1? If they are low, then clouds/rain can surely lower the signal level and cause you problems.

Also did you mount the dish yourself or have a pro do it? I'm about to go re-adjust my aim this weekend.
