I have a Directv RCA 450 hooked up with an Onkyo reciever,Toshiba VCR/DCD and TV. I have everything running through the receiver. The problem is that just recently I have started getting interference lines through the tv after turning on the receiver and/or the vcr. In other words, a clear directv picture until one of the other components are turned on. Picture then becomes full of horizontal lines and interfence sparklies. Any ideas??

Make sure you don't have power cables too close to your video cables first, they can cause problems in a hurry! Then, troubleshoot by running the video (temporarily) directly from the satellite receiver to the TV. That will eliminate the AV receiver. Next, use an extension cord to another power outlet on a different circuit to see if electrical interference is causing it.

The odds are that you have a poorly sheilded video cable.

    Good luck!
