Satellite Audio to TV and Receiver (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I would like to have the audio from my Satellite output to my TV for most of the normal programs BUT also have the capability of having the SAT audio output to my receiver for the music channels - so I can use my receiver for parties w/o having my TV on and the music being output through my TV. Is this possible. right now I have the L and R audio going to my TV only.

does your satellite receiver have a digital out? or just the l/r analog out?

you could connect the digital out to the receiver, using it for the music channels with the tv off or volume muted, then turn the receiver off or volume muted and using tv volume for regular tv

just the l and r out from the receiver. i think i'm screwed.
