With a smaller sat/sub speaker system, is it better to run the speakers to the sub and not use the sub-out on a Denon reciever? I read this and was wondering which way is best? Thanks

It would depend on what the manufacturer of your speakers recommend and what sounds best to you. In the past I owned an Energy Encore sat/sub combo and Energy recommended not using the sub out of your receiver. They suggested I use the high level speaker connections and use the crossover of the sub. In this case I agreed and so did my ears. I was able to blend the sub with the satellites better by using the subs crossover.

Bill,

It all depends on your speakers system, whether your sub has a speaker output that incorporates a crossover, and the crossover on your receiver.

Give us a little information, such as:

Speaker system.
Receiver crossover.
etc...

the speaker system is Energy 5.2's, and the Denon 2800's cross over is at 80. Thanks for the response.
