How does this projector look when the lights are on? I'm considering putting a projector in my living room, but was wondering if it works ok in the daylight with curtains closed. I know it will be somewhat washed out, but is the image viewable?

I have the Boxlight 13HD version of this projector. It's pretty bright. You could certainly watch a football game, or the news with quite a bit of light in the room, including lamps if not hitting directly on the screen. You wouldn't want to watch a movie that way however.

I have the Sanyo PLV-60ht and it is very bright. I have no problem watching movies with some light in the room. It does look better the darker the room gets though.

With the curtains closed you should be ok. As the two Jims said though, the less ambient light on the screen the better. My last projector was 3300 ANSI lumens, and I had a very small screen. Ambient light still killed the picture quality.
