    I was thrilled to hear that this classic was returning to network television in almost 25 years, but was horrified to see how butchered it was.....more than Rudolph. Entire scenes and songs were cut making the show almost confusing. It was like a clips show. Plus, the picture seemed stretched and zoomed in. I'm grateful the unedited version is available on dvd, because this was not a tribute to Rankin/Bass in any way shape or form. Sad, considering this is the 35th anniversary of the special.

    I think this is the finest of the Rankin-Bass Christmas specials. Sorry to hear it was butchered on TV, but I guess that's why we have DVD.
