I have a 7 year old rear projection Sony 46" bigscreen that is still going strong. I thought about handing it down to my sister and upgrading to an HDTV ready widescreen set. I was at Best Buy and they have a Samsung 46" widescreen set for $1,500. I thought it put out a very good picture for the price. I also want widescreen so my widescreen DVD's look better. $1,500 is a good price and I figured I might buy an extended warrantee just in case. For $500 more you can get a better brand. Can't really tell if it is really better though.

    Any comments on Samsung?

The samsung sets have been getting a lot of good reviews and at 1500 for a 47 inch widesreen HD ready TV it is an excellent deal...I would skip the extended warrantee thou
