I want a television that has progressive scan capability so I can watch movies with progressive scan, and I want it to be big enough that I will truly be suprised by the image quality. Our room is close to a 12' x 10' with the TV planned to be on the 12' side. Would a 32" be enough "TV" for this size room? If not, then I have no choice but to go with rear projection and for it to take a long time, because the cheapest HDTV RPTV I can get will cost me $1130.

You don't say how far you will sit from the set but 32" will not give you much of a HT experience unless you are 6' or closer. Do a search for "seating distance"...

Heh, well if it's any condolance, we'll be sitting 5 feet or less away. I did say how big the room is, and chances are in a small room of such size, we will be sitting 6' away at a minimum.
