samsung tv and jvc reciever (1 Viewer)

I am ha ving no luck and would really appreciate some help! I have a Samsung smart tv un58h5205202afxzc led smart tv and just picked up a jvc surround sound receiver rx-6010vbk, I can get sound through my surround sound speakers from the radio or dvd, but not from my tv! the receiver does not have hdmi connections , but I have tried digital optical and rca connections. I only have a dvd and cable box aswell and they are both hooked up to the tv with hdmi cables. some help would be much appreciated. Thanks Mark

Not sure what "RCA connection" you tried, but that TV doesn't have RCA analog audio output.

Typically...

You turn off the internal speakers of the TV.
Then a sub menu opens up configuring the audio output.

im pretty green with electronics but its possible I connected to an input? I did also try a digital optical cable and had no luck , Imy sub menu really says speaker select and when I click on it and select audio out it still doesn't work

Input to input doesn't work. Output goes to input.

Did you try setting the cable box and DVD player PCM?

The basic audio setting in all your equipment.

PCM or DD.
PCM or DTS.
