    Hey,

I had only a couple of minutes with my Infocus X1 (fresh out of the box from Circuit City) today. Untuned/calibrated/crooked, etc I saw some rainbowing.

I was wondering - does anyone know what speed and how many segments the color wheel has in the Samsung DLP RPTVs? I couldn't see even a trace of a rainbow on the 61" @ Circuit City.

I ask because the newer Infocus 4805 projector is coming out with a speedier/more segmented color wheel (4x vs 2x).

I was wondering if a faster wheel is why I couldn't see anything on the Samsungs but I could see on my PJ.

I hunted around but I couldn't find any technical info on the RPTVs as far as color wheel speed.

    Thanks!

I found one comment from about a year ago:

"Samsung spec's a 6 segment 2.5x color wheel. The color wheel runs at 9,000 RPM."

Another comment made in passing quite a while back mentioned a 5x color wheel.
