I thought you wanted to know what players would allow hearing the advanced audio codecs using an older receiver without HDMI and an explanation of why. The Sony BDP-S350 is just like the Samsung BD-P1500 as far as handling of the lossless audio codecs, both require an audio processor with HDMI input. Neither decodes DTS-HD MA yet although one or both may be able to do so with a firmware update which would mean an AV receiver with HDMI 1.1 or HDMI 1.2a audio capabilities would be adequate. Over HDMI there are two ways to handle the advanced lossless audio codecs, by bitstream to an HDMI 1.3a audio processor which can decode or by having the player decode and output PCM to an audio processor with HDMI 1.1 or above that handles PCM. No HDMI input with your AV receiver, you don't want this player or the BDP-S350 if you want to hear the three lossless audio codecs.
