Boxee is an Israeli startup that was recently looking for $30M in funding. Boxee started out as a streaming video service and then teamed up with DLink for the launch of STB's. The most interesting thing that Boxee had was their beta of DVR in the cloud, which I think is really cool.
Now Samsung has acquired them and I wonder if part of it has to do with the DVR cloud service. I think that would be a compelling feature integrated into a TV. That's the first Smart TV feature that actually interests me to the point that it could be part of a purchase decision.
