Samsung 850 + Motorola DCH3200 STB (1 Viewer)

Hi, I'm new to the forum.

Just got a 46" Samsung 850 and cable box is MOT DCH3200.

According to the Samsung manual, you can control the cable box (STB) with the Samsung controller if you program it using the Motorola code. This would allow control with just one controller of both the TV and cable box.

I performed the programming procedure over and over using the code they suggested for Motorola, but it has not worked.

Does anyone have any suggestion? The code is a three-digit code.

Since Samsung just gives you a suggested code, you found out that it doesn't work. Just try the other 998 codes. One of them should work.

I suggest that you scrap that idea and go with a Harmony remote. It can read the codes of you current Motorola remote and find the exact codeset to use.

Thanks for the tip. We're just trying to eliminate the "multiple remotes"

Apparently, the DCH3200 is so new that Samsung doesn't have the code. They say they will eventually have a firmware upgrade for this. No idea when, however.

I'll look into the Harmony controller.
