I am trying to decide between the Samsung and the Mits. The Samsung is lighter, thinner, has no glare on the screen, and has both DVI and HDMI inputs. The Mits has the HD2+ chip, which the Samsung does not; has only one HDMI input. The Mits looks as if it has a little sharper picture. I think if the Samsung had the HD2+ chip, I'd go with it. Any advice out there as to which one I should spend my +$3,ooo on? Also, anyone know if next generation Samsungs will have the HD2+ chips (or something else), and when they would be hitting the stores?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

I have seen the SAmsung in action and it has looked pretty great to me. I know little about the Mits, but I have never heard any complaints about he Samsung. I know that is little help to you, but I thought I'd share.

If you do a search over at avsforum.com there's a thread with step-by-step directions of how to remove that oh-so-anoying Mitsubishi glare screen.

Stopped in a Best Buy last week and they had the Mits on display without the glare screen. The salesman said he was the one that removed it and that it was very easy. We both agreed it looked 1000% better.

You can get the 46" and 56" Sammy with the HD2+ chip. The models are HL-Pxx74W (replace 'xx' with screen size to get actual model number). I saw the Mitsubishi's for the first time this weekend and I'm very impressed with them.

I have the Samsung HLP-5085W "Captain Kirk" model. It has the HD2+ chip. Love it so far.

Thanks, everyone, for your responses. Very helpful. And, Raasean, I will try posting in the display devices forum.
