It seems to be so. This problem is 'rampant' from the early days of RPTV and still exists now. Even with LCD display , which supposedly should not have burn-in problem, you will have that albeit much less risk than direct-view.

Also, the larger and high-resolution the display device is, the higher risk it seems to have burn in.

Keep in mind there is some issues with the 3096 an d3097 models.

They have transparent vertical lines that you can see on reddish scenes and other darker scenes. All the sets have this problem that I tried (4 so far) and others on the forum have seen this as well. Samsung denies such a problem exists.
