I'm posting here since I have gotten no replies in the accessories forum. Does anyone have a 36" Sony Wega using the Salamander SVDO stand? Especially with their Saturn casters? I'd like to get a stand for my Sony 36" xbr250, especially one I can move a little for cleaning, etc.. but I'm leery how stable this stand would be, especially with their casters.

I have a Salamander TV35 stand with Saturn casters with my 36" XBR250. It's rated at 300 lbs while the SVDO is rated at 350. I don't think you should have any problems. The casters are cast aluminum and can hold a huge amount of weight; I had the TV and 40 pounds of center channel speaker on mine with no problems -- solid as a rock.

Thanks Dave! Appreciate the info from someone that has it. Hard to believe everything in print (weight rating)sometimes.

Mitch S.--- you sent email and I got an unknown account when I tried to reply...

Mitch,

I would probably keep the front of the tv even or a little before the front edge of the stand. Don't think there would be a problem with the back of the set hanging over the back edge a little since it is front heavy like you said. And I think the stand is wider than the set (I have an older XBR250, though, so yours may be different)

Got the following from the guy I bought my twin 30 from:
Phil,

There would be absolutley no problem with the configuration you are
interested in. We have not had a SVDO stand in the store yet, but i have
put 36"xbr's on other similar stands from them with no problem. The casters
are made for heavy loads as well. The stand is rated at 350lbs, and the
casters at 400lbs. I believe your tv is probably around 200. The nice
thing about their casters is that they still roll smoothly with a great
amount of weight on them. Hope this information helps you. Let me know if
there is anything else we can do.

Thank You,
