Safe to buy a new JVC 30K deck for $439US? (1 Viewer)

A local Canadian dealer is clearing out the rest of his JVC 30K DVHS deck inventory at $600CAD, or roughly $439US. It's too good of a deal to pass up, since I have tons of HD recordings on my PC waiting to be transfered to tape. If these are of the batch of decks with problems, can they be easily remedied by JVC Canada?

As long as the serial number is above 15712101 it should be fine as these are the newer "Fixed" ones. Another way to tell is that it includes a DVHS cleaning tape.

The one I picked up has a 'safe' serial number, but no cleaning tape. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
