Has anyone heard anything about this release? It was announced last year, was available for pre-order, and now has disappeared. Sony seems determined to restrict their SACD releases to catalog titles long available at bargain prices on CD.

Have not heard anything about it but they recently remastered 'The Best of.' Seems that they have done that will a couple of things that they could have done an SACD. There is only one SACD on the Sony web site (Joshua Bell 8-21) scheduled for the next few weeks. My Acoustics Sounds catalog indicated that Sprinsteen's NY concert from last year is coming soon to SACD. I would assume they are waiting for more hardware to be sold but I feel the same frustration. I don't want to bother with remastered stuff if the SACD is around the corner.

The Sade SACD was cancelled a long time ago, and there has been no talk of it being released since, as far as I know. I love SACD and have two players, but I have become frustrated with Sony cancelling titles. Besides the Sade disc, Sony announced and cancelled the soundtracks to Top Gun and Footloose, a Loggins and Messina disc, Aerosmith Rocks, and the aforementioned Springsteen live set. There are probably some cancellations I missed. Despite my frustration, the SACDs I do have sound great, and both players are excellent for CD playback.

What's the difference between the old Sade "Best Of" cd and the new remastered one?
