Hey Guys. Im thinking of swinging out and picking up Sonys multi-disc SACD changer (purely as a test, if its cool, Ill use it as a starter, if not, oh well and back it goes) But here is my question: Does my reciever need to be able to send the higher sample rate signal properly? How would I be able to find out? Thanks alot.

Matthew: your receiver needs to have a set of 5.1 analog inputs and a passthrough mode.

Thanks John. My reciever definately has the seperate inputs and the passthrough. What I was asking was if the electronics would even send the higher res sound properly, or if it would squish it down to CD resolution if its not built to handle it right.

Matthew: if your receiver or pre/pro has a passthrough mode, then the signal from the SACD player should be untouched.
