Hello all.

DVD/SACD Player: Sony DVP-NS755V
Receiver: Yamaha RXV730

How do I connect these together to listen to SACDs? It will play but I get no sound. Do I have to use the 5-CH Output connectors for SACD?

Here's how my audio is connected now:
DVD to Receiver = Optical

I used the coax for the digital cable, but DVD to Receiver = Coax did not work either.

I also configured the DVD player to have just about everything turned on.

You cannot pass SACD or DVD-A via digital connections, only analog (yes, you must use the multi-channel outs). This means you've got to go buy 3 pairs of stereo RCAs, or one and listen in stereo only. You can leave the digital coax for DVDs.

Excellent.

Thank you much. I was just about to leave and now I can stop by the store and buy some RCA's.

ANy stero RCA's will work right??

I mean you could even use the 2 audio portions of a 3 cable setup for Aud & Vid.

In theory, yes any cables will work, but you don't want to go firing up one of the highest resolution audio formats available using $5 cables, now do you?

You can't come back and say it doesn't sound good if you do...:D
