I was wondering, for SACDs is it better to use a seperate SACD player to play SACDs and than use a seperate player to play regular CDs? thanks.

    Keith,

I'd think that unless we're talking really high-end here, the answer is that it wouldn't make much of a difference.

I can imagine at the high-end, one might have a CD player that was outstanding at Redbook (and/or had some intrinsicly special quality) but didn't play SACD and thus pick up an SACD-capable player to fill in the gap without getting rid of the first player.

Most higher-end SACD players I'm familiar with though are also pretty good at Redbook playback, though.

So other than from a wear-and-tear perspective (IMO, not that significant), or something unusual, you might as well just use one player.
