I plan on buying the Pioneer DV-563A DVD player because of it's capability to play SACD and of course p-scan and all that (and it's cheap!). I have a question about hook-ups though to take advantage of the SACD sound a swell as 5.1 through my HK 230. If I wire the channels separately (for SACD capability) to the receiver, and use the optical out to my HK receiver for movies, will the DVD player & receiver now which output to use for each format? I guess what I am asking is if there is a way to electronically switch between the two outputs for which media I am playing. Thanks!

John, you'll simply use your reciever to switch back and forth between the 5.1 audio input (for SACD & DVD-A) and the digital input for DVD-V sound. You could listen to CD's either route. Best wishes!
