I've only seen Sabrina in full screen and to me it looks better that way over widescreen. I just saw some screen caps from DVDBeaver and from what I saw, widescreen crops a lot of.

Not to me. I just watched the 4K digital again this afternoon and it looked fine in that aspect ratio.

As it was meant to be shown. Unfortunately, once I was subjected to a DCP in full screen. I was so pissed!

Sabrina can apparently viewed in either format, from what I've been looking up and reading about the different aspect ratios is that it was common back in the pre-widescreen era of the 50's for films to be shot in standard 1:33.1 and then the projectionists then would mask the film for showing it in whatever widescreen format was best.

To each his own, but I don't think Paramount will be offering any more full screen transfers of this with today's high definition formats for the home video market.

The movie was filmed during the Fall of 1953 and there is little doubt it was intended for 1.85/1.75 ratio.

Angry that you had to watch it in Academy ratio, or angry that’s it’s matted to widescreen?

Angry that it was shown in a ratio not approved by the DP and director. I had banked on Paramount offering a correct DCP.
