The first reference quality Bollywood BD is here: Saawariya!
I'm not commenting on the film. Bollywood in general is not for everyone and Saawariya is controversial as well. Bhansali is often accused of style over substance, and Saawariya is no exception. But if you can focus on the style part and enjoy it this disc delivers in spades.
Saawariya is a literally very dark film and the transfer is full of high contrast shots with incredible depth and detail and deeeep blacks. Colors are often but no always very saturated. It looks fabulous on a high contrast monitor or projector. By the looks of it this disc is DI sourced, incredibly clean but film like looking despite very little grain. DNR is visible in some selected shots but artifacts are minor.
The Dolby True HD soundtrack is of high quality.
If you love eye candy musicals like "Moulin Rouge" or Hollywood classics from the 50s give Saawariya a chance. You might enjoy it.
