Interesting. I think that by Rush Hour 3, the franchise had run its course, but as a long-time fan of Jackie, I'm interested to see where this leads.

I wonder if Chris Tucker will return? He hasn't done much of anything since RH3.

With respect, this is why I dislike Twitter links rather than linking the actual original source - it’s a lot of the game telephone where the message gets distorted, and I see no reason to reward these vulture clickbait sites with our time when all they do is steal other people’s reporting.

That tweet is from Total Film, quoting yet another site, Games Radar. When you click on that link, it reveals that Deadline is the source of the actual information. Reading the actual Deadline article, it quotes Chan as saying that he is in “talks” to make a fourth film. It says absolutely nothing about a green light from the studio that holds the rights to the franchise or anything concrete.

But if you just went by the Twitter game of telephone, you’d think this was going into production tomorrow.

For sure, much of Twitter is clickbait. I've learned to treat a headline with scepticism, since many distort what the real story is. (And many retweet or link to rumours and distort the rumour!) If I'm interested enough, I'll seek out or read the article.

Even tweets from "reputable" publications like the NY Times may have a misleading headline in the tweet.

Chris Tucker talks Rush Hour 4.

"You’re going to see a lot of good stuff coming, but it’s going to be on a whole other level. That’s what I like…I’m excited about that. It’s not going to be what you’ve normally seen… Rush Hour 4, that’s something I definitely will probably drop in there because I love working with Jackie, but I’ve got some new stuff that I think you’re really gonna like. I’m excited about it."
