New Line Cinema is releasing Rush hour 2 : Infinifilm edition on December 11th 2001.
Details are as of yet not announced but here are the two covers for the disc.
Yes that's right TWO !
New Line has made a nice move in doing two covers.
The only difference between covers is the fact that the actors are on different sides.
Here is a peek :

The difference in the covers are obviously just flipping the images. That makes one correct and one wrong. If they wanted to do something like this, why not two correctly framed pictures? I'm guessing the one on the left is correct, since I believe that Jackie Chan's hair is parted on his left side. Strange to say the least.

Wow I was under the impression that the whole Infinifilm thing was for movies that had some basis in reality or a serious mesg to them that could be explored in an eductional kind of way.

Max,
Maybe we'll get to go beyond the movie and get some more detailed information about those asian massage parlours.

And probably no DTS since they cram everything onto one disc. Seriously, I liked their two disc Platinum titles better. Look at Se7en... it even had true DTS-ES!!

In other words, just a new label so they can try to score some more ca$h out of the consumer.
How's that? I just picked up Thirteen Days for 20 bucks. Blow can be found for less than $17 online...how is that scoring anything more from them? It didn't affect their prices at all. And I really like the content on Thirteen Days.

Just a little update in this topic.
Monday New Line Cinema will release the full press-release
of Rush Hour 2 on dvd but here is a little quote from our
friends at DVDFILE :
Quote :
The Rush Hour 2 press release hits the web this Monday, but this Infinifilm release will include new Dolby Digital EX and DTS 6.1 ES Discreet mixes created especially for DVD.
End.
So this looks pretty nice to me.
I hope that they will not cancel this track like they
did with 13 Days and 15 Minutes.
Although those two titles are being released in other
regions with DTS !!!
Will post full press-release tomorrow so stay tuned.....

What´s this movie like?
anygood?
You can look at it two ways. As a "film" it's a total hackfest. It's just a bunch of shots and jokes and one-liners hacked together. But as a movie, it's pretty damned funny.

Depends on what you're looking for I guess.

I like the idea of Infinifilm, but is Newline totally scrapping their Platnium Series?
In the early days of DVD, you were pretty much guaranteed one of the best packages out there if you bought a Platnium edition. It would be a shame if they dropped a good product line just because of a marketing decision.
Not that a discs packaging line means anything in the long run, but it is becoming a disturbing trend. Rename a product line then re-release.

Well I thought that the movie was very funny.
I laughed more than with the first movie.
If you like movies such as Lethal Weapon and other buddie/cop movies this one is a must see.
I can't wait to buy this movie on dvd !!
