What's new

Rush fans! It isn't the year 2112, but 2/11/2 is close enough, right? (1 Viewer)

Why not play this great album today in honor of the date, since none of us will be alive when it actually is the year 2112.

This was a great thought, Bob! Mike may be rocking in Bangkok, but I will be learning my Lessons tonight. Remastered version, of course. ;)

Looks like this thread is filled with Subdivisions ;)
As for myself, I'm going to take in some Moving Pictures while I learn a few Lessons

I thought Rush were a British band? In which case, like the rest of the world, the date was 11/2/2. Oh well ;)
2nd November, however...

I haven't listened to 2112 in awhile. It was among the early CDs I bought, back around 1989. So, I have the original Mercury version and haven't yet bought the remastered version. I do have the MFSL version, however. How does the remastered version compare to the MFSL disc?

In recognition of this momentous occassion, I'd like to recommend everyone read the book "Anthem" by Ayn Rand. It is the basis of the album and an intense read.

While not the typical Sci-Fi, action, shoot-em-up novel, it is very philisophic and engaging (A philosophy entwined in most of Peart's lyrics). Rand's writing style is intense, and she wastes no words on fluff. Not an author you can just skim through sitting by the pool....
