I need to run some cables between rooms (specifically serial cables from a PC in a different room from my theater). My current solution is just a small hole in the drywall that is functional, but looks like crap. I've perused the aisles of my local home improvement store, but didn't see any faceplates that would fit the bill. What solution have you guys come up with when having to run cables between different rooms?

Blank wall plate drill hole to size. Use remodel cut in. In Portland try double O electronics.

They offer grommets in various sizes and finishes (wood, plastic, brass) that are great for passing a cable through the wall. They have rounded edges to prevent snags. I have used them in the last three places I lived.
