Runaway series premiere 9/25/06 (1 Viewer)

Just a reminder that "Runaway" starts tonight (Monday) on the new CW at 9 p.m. EDT.

"Runaway" stars Donnie Wahlberg and Leslie Hope as husband and wife with 3 kids and they are on the run from the law, so they appear to bounce from town to town. I don't know how they can sustain this concept from week-to-week, but it's not bad, but I don't think it's got enough of a wide appeal that will garner enough ratings to keep it around for more than a season.

I saw it, and I was underwhelmed. It comes across as the Family version of The Fugitive, with some teen stuff in it.

I thought it was a nice trick, when the cops went to the house, and you hear the door bell ring, and turns out to be 2 different scenes.

That trick is played out by now. It was fresh when they did it in "The Silence of the Lambs" 15 years ago or so.

This show just doesn't have the appeal to the CW demographic, I think it would be more at home on another network, like CBS or NBC.

I've only read the book. Never saw the movie.

I don't think the show would be a good fit with 7th Heaven!
