I’ve not yet seen the 4k of this release. Parts were shot standard def TV, which aren’t going to gain much. It certainly seems an odd 4k candidate.

Good points, Robert Harris! I didn't know about the standard def TV parts. Still, I've heard the 4K transfer is well-done. Maybe worth a look, even if it's not a traditional 4K showcase.

This has always been one of my favourite films since seeing it at the cinema in 1999.

I bought the 4K last year (from an eBay seller who had purchased the Columbia set). I thought the PQ was magnificent - a million times better than the old BD.

The SD sections (looked like Hi-8 video to me!) are rough, but then they always were. They don't make up a significant portion of the running time.

I highly recommend this 4K to any fans of this wonderful 90s time-capsule - the upgrade is huge!

Surprised to see this release. I would love a release of The Princess and the Warrior, but I’m not holding my breath.
