Hey all. I'm waiting for my 300-754 amp and port to get here so I can finish my 142.5l EBS Shiva box. I've been reading about a lot of people bottoming their Shivas even with the built-in rumble filter.

From my existing setup, I've got a pair of 20hz FMods. Would it be a bad idea (from either a sonic or damage standpoint) to use the FMods in addition to the built in rumble filter? I don't regularly drive my sub to reference levels, but I don't want to be replacing it after bottoming it while setting it up, either.

Thanks,

-Joe

Joe, the Shiva is a robust driver; it’s not going to go up in smoke if you bottom it out once or twice. :) There’s probably little danger of that, since you say you don’t usually run your system at reference levels. Feel free to use the FMods if you’re really worried, but really, there’s no reason to use them until you see you have a problem.
