Is it worth the extra $ to buy the RPTV with an integrated HD tuner rather than without?

At the moment I don't have any HD signal capability, but if the DirectTV HDnet Movie thing proves true once I have my HT set up, I might eventually go that way, which means (I think) that I'd need an the external DirectTV HD tuner anyway even if the RPTV had its own internal tuner, right?

(Still shopping for the HT TV, so taking all this into consideration...)

Thanks for any reply!

Tom, I bought a 34 Widescreen HDTV without a tuner when another brand had a tuner, the one without allowed more HD inputs and HDTV tuners will come out with better features and quality after a while.

I would always be inclined to go the separate tuner route. As Dan hinted, greater flexibility that way (and, to some extent, better performance).

Thanks, Dan & Jack. It makes sense to me to go without the internal HD tuner, esp since I don't do HD....yet!

Gratefully,

Tom
