I might try to squeeze some more time out of my 10 year old Sony XBR 57". It has some issues with fixed shadows in the display. Im thinking this may be due to dust accumulation inside on the lens and mirror.

Is getting access and cleaning something I should attempt?
I assume I can probably blow air over the glass to clean them from dust accumulation.

    any thoughts?

    Thank you

Are you a qualified service personel??? lol

Sounds corny, but true, and only you really know if you are or not.

If not, I'd call somebody out to do it.

If so, I say go for it, but I will tune in to this thread, and see how others suggest about doing it as well.

Cleaning the inside real good, and cleaning all mirrors / lenses / crt surfaces is a large job on a big set.

I consider myself qualified service personel, so I would personally give it a shot.
