What are the advantages/disadvantages of CRT vs LCD and DLP RPTVs? I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of LCD vs DLP, but I'm not really sure how CRTs fall in there. What advantages do LCD sets offer for what seems to be a significantly higher price?

Here is a link to a fairly good breakdown on the different types of Displays.

LCD and DLP seemed fairly close cost wise when I was looking, of course both being out of my price range.

These both represent real digital technology, thus allowing them to reach a more true HD Pixel Count / resolution on the actual screen.

LCD and DLP may have better pixel count, both have poorer contrast ratios. LCD sets can get stuck pixels, DLPS may exhibit rainbow effects.

If one's sole criteria is pixel count then the digital displays win. If one's criteria is overall picture quality in terms of smoothness, contrast, color reproduction, and freedom from digital artifacts crts win at a much lower price point.
